A five-page website content plan for a local service business

A five-page brochure website can give a local service business a clear introduction, explain its work and make enquiries easier. The right structure follows the business and the visitor's needs rather than a fixed word count.

1. Home: explain the offer

State what the business does, who it serves and the next step. Add the confirmed service area if it matters. Use evidence the business can actually support; do not fill space with invented awards, ratings or customer numbers.

Question for the client: “If a suitable customer reads only this page, what should they understand and do next?”

2. About: give relevant context

Explain the real story and the people behind the work where appropriate. Relevant experience, working approach and supportable qualifications can help a visitor assess fit. A long personal history is optional; clarity about the service matters more than filling a template.

Question: “What would a customer want to know about you before making contact?”

3. Services: describe the actual work

List the agreed services, what each includes and any important exclusions. Explain how enquiries or quotes work. If the business has several very different services, separate pages may be useful, but that changes the page plan and should be agreed.

Use the scope-change guide before expanding a five-page brief into a larger site.

4. FAQs: answer genuine uncertainties

Choose questions customers really ask: service area, what to include in an enquiry, the quotation process or how appointments are arranged. Do not invent policies merely to complete the page. If there are few meaningful FAQs, another page may be more useful.

Question: “What do you explain repeatedly before somebody books or requests a quote?”

5. Contact: make the next action clear

Confirm public contact details, opening hours where relevant and what information the business wants in an enquiry. If a form is part of the build, agree who receives submissions and how it will be tested. Do not promise a response time the business has not accepted.

Plan the investment around the scope

The Noor UK Website Cost Calculator explores indicative costs for project size, delivery partner and features, including a copywriting option. Its figures are planning estimates, not a supplier quote. Content, design, development and ongoing support should be considered together.

Turn the plan into a collection list

For each page, name the required facts, assets and approver using the client checklist. When the page structure is agreed but writing is blocking the build, Launch Rescue offers a £149 pilot for up to five pages. It supplies the content handoff; the designer retains the website build and publication.
