CLIENT COMMUNICATION · NOOR INTELLIGENCE

How to chase clients for website content without another vague reminder

A useful content reminder tells the client exactly what you need, why it matters and how they can respond. “Just checking in” gives them another email to manage without making the task easier.

Make the request smaller before you send it

Review the outstanding list and choose the one or two items blocking the next stage. If a client owes six pages, a logo and service details, asking for everything again may be overwhelming. Start with confirmed service facts and an interview time. Your content checklist can hold the full list while the email stays short.

Message one: make a specific request

Hi [name], I’m preparing the Services page. Could you confirm the three services you want featured and the towns you cover by [agreed date]? Bullet points are enough; I can use them to prepare the draft within our agreed scope.

Only offer drafting if it is included or separately agreed. If the client needs writing help, explain that as a choice rather than quietly taking on extra work.

Message two: offer a different way to answer

Hi [name], would it be easier to talk through the missing information? We could use a 20-minute call to confirm services and contact details, then I’ll send the answers back for review. Would [option A] or [option B] suit you?

The useful change is the response method. Repeating the same request more firmly will not help if writing is the blockage. Our interview questions give that conversation a structure.

Message three: agree the project’s status

Hi [name], we still need [items] before [stage] can proceed. Please let me know by [date] whether we should arrange the content session or discuss a later restart. I’ll confirm an updated timetable once we know when those inputs will be available.

This describes a dependency without inventing a penalty or threatening a consequence your agreement does not support. For a prolonged delay, use the project pause workflow.

Separate content requests from invoice reminders

If an invoice is also overdue, handle it as a separate factual conversation. A content request and a payment request have different purposes. Good Chaser, another Noor Intelligence product, prepares overdue-invoice correspondence for you to review and send; it does not collect missing website content or guarantee payment.

If the client can participate but the writing work needs an owner, Launch Rescue’s £149 pilot provides a bounded content handoff after scope review.
